What's up with Social Media?

Hey lovely brides and wedding couples!

So what is up with social media? I’ve never been a savy social media person, have never been insta-famous, went viral on tiktok or any of that jazz, but I have enjoyed growing a solid instagram following of over 10k in the past few years. I’ve mainly used that to showcase our work for future clients. Unfortunately there’s been a few things going on that have caused me to rethink what social media means for Alea Beauty in 2025. Let’s get into it:

1) Technology is hard:
So this past fall I was traveling in Scotland and dropped my phone. No big deal right, wrong! This caused my screen to break and when trying to replace it it, The Apple Store saw damage to the front camera that operates Face ID. This essentially mad my phone useless as I couldn’t open any apps or access my saved passwords. After multiple atte, mtps and 5 hours waiting around the Edinbrugh Apple store, they decided to order me a new phone. I go back a week later to pick it up and do to two factor authorizations and being in a foreign country then my phone plan, I basically lost a lot of infor, ation and passwords. Long story short, I was locked out of Instagram.

2) Enter TikTok:
Frustrated with the whole Meta-verse and just no luck logging in to any of my accounts, I decided to create a TikTok account, I had one there that I rarely used and deleted last year so had to start fresh. This was a big chore I gave up on with the news that TikTok would likely be banned in the US. So whats a gal to do?

3) Let’s go back to blogging:
Here’s where we are at, I am still locked out of IG, TikTok is likely to be banned, so I’ll just be blogging here until I figure this mess out. As always, I apprecieta all the kindness and support. If there’s anything in particular you would like to see on the blog, shoot us an email at info@aleabeauty.co.

Cheers!
